VI. The Rise Of The Palestinian Movement In The Wake Of The 1967 Arab Defeat

As tension builds up on the Arab–Israeli front, partly due to raids carried out by the Palestinian guerrilla movement Fatah, Israel attacks in June 1967 and occupies the Syrian Golan Heights, Egypt's Sinai Desert, and what remains of historic Palestine (Gaza Strip and Jordan’s West Bank). Arab states focus on regaining their lost territories, and the Palestinians reconstitute their autonomous national institutions to conduct the struggle against Israel.
